Each morning we stepped outside our Inn door to our alpaca friends. Spanning 3 generations: the grandma, mama, and baby are our idea of a good inn neighbor.
Breakfast was next, as we enjoyed Field-to-Fork cuisine in the new restaurant on-site, Campo. We indulged ourselves in farm fresh eggs, honey from the fields, and the best sautéed veggies you’ve ever tasted.
Next on our retreat agenda was yoga either amongst the lavender or in the rose gardens. With the fresh New Mexico air and smell of fresh flowers around, it’s safe to say we were in a yoga bliss state each practice.
Most afternoons we spent with a group activity. Our retreaters took part in a Behind the Scenes Lavender Production Tour to learn how all of those indulgent Lavender products are handcrafted on the farm, and we even got to make some of our own. We also enjoyed leisurely bike rides alongside the mighty Rio Grande River, a Lavender Perfume Distallation class with our very own Botanist and Naturopath as a guide, Christa Obuchowski, founder of Aromabotanica, and pool side chats.
Of course no stay would be complete without a stroll through the Farm Shop. Featuring locally handmade New Mexico products and small bites and nibbles this was always a late afternoon jaunt.
Not to mention, we couldn’t resist another meal back at Campo, as we dined alfresco with a perfectly paired dinner featuring all of those New Mexico specialities and of course lots of chilies! We just love the open and interactive kitchen design that puts you right in the midst of the action.
Finally, as the sunset each night we hung around fire pits with lavender infused bevvies and hot herbal tea, reminiscing on a day well spent and dreaming of those gorgeous lavender fields.
