Top Things to Do this Spring in Richmond: RVA Luv

Richmond is a beautiful city year round- but in the springtime, the flowers are in full bloom and there are lots of fun and unique things to do. From baseball games to festivals, there is sure to be something for everyone to do. Whether you like to enjoy the views from inside or get out in nature and be hands on, we have a list of some of the top things to check out this spring in the city we call hOMe!

If Nature is your thing:

Make sure you check out “A Million Blooms” at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens April 1st through June 1st. This is the Garden’s celebration of spring! A parade of blooms unfurl as the weather warms. Happening daily from 9-5pm you can see stunning peonies, tulips, daffodils, roses and more. Depending on the weather here are the months where you can certain flowers: April: Daffodils, tulips, bluebells May: Peonies, iris, azaleas, pitcher plants June: Lotuses, roses and in the Conservatory: Orchids, tropicals, cacti. Get out and smell the roses, literally!

If you’re a Sports Fan:

Check out a Flying Squirrel’s baseball game at the Diamond. Check out the full schedule of games here! Grab your peanuts and cracker jacks and head to the ball game!

If you’re a Foodie:

Spring Restaurant Week is happening April 22nd through the 28th. The week long event has been going on for 18 years now and features dozens of local restaurants. Each restaurant will offer their own three-course prix fixe menu for the week and donate a portion of every meal to FeedMore, the umbrella organization that includes the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels and the Community Kitchen.
This year, the three-course prix fixe menus during the spring and fall Richmond Restaurant Weeks will cost you $29.19 per person, with $4.19 of every meal purchased going to FeedMore. For a list of all participating restaurants check out this link and make a reservation at your favorite restaurant for an amazing meal and a great cause!

If you are a Yogi:

The “Peace Love RVA Yoga Festival” falls on May 4th of this year. Whether you are a Yoga enthusiast or a newcomer come enjoy music, vegetarian food, local merchants, and classes led by some of Richmond’s finest yoga instructors all jammed packed into one eventful day. If you like Beer and Wine:

The Maymont Beer & Wine Classic is right around the corner. Swing by Maymont on May 3rd to Raise a glass in celebration of this annual event. Enjoy live music, food trucks, lawn games and more while sampling some of Virginia’s finest beverages from dozens of local breweries, cideries and wineries. Learn more about the classic, here!

If you are a Music Lover:

Mark your calendar for Dominion Energy Riverrock happening May 17th through the 19th! This is one of the nation’s premiere outdoor music and sports festival. This festival is what Richmonder’s wait for all year long. To checkout the complete schedule visit the event website!
