Coffee made from my favorite roast from Capt Buzzy’s Beanery in Churchill gets me going in the morning.
Waking up is the best part of my day.
The last time I laughed so hard I couldn’t stop… was last week when my boyfriend and I were silly dancing in the living room.
I’ve never learned how to scuba dive and I hope that changes soon!
I started practicing yoga when… things were really difficult and looking back, I can say without doubt that yoga saved my life.
This is completely unoriginal but 100% accurate: red wine and dark chocolate are my guilty obsessions.
One thing you wouldn’t have guessed about me is that… I work in neuro-oncology at Massey Cancer Center where I’m training to be a neuropsychologist. I provide mindfulness and compassion-based therapy and assessments for cancer patients and their families to improve their quality of life.
I am consistently inspired by… moments that humble me, bring me to my knees. It is incredible how quickly we can take things for granted: our health, our family, our jobs, our way of life. I am most inspired by the moments when I am reminded to not take my life for granted. The moments when perspective shifts to allow me the space to see beauty in the mundane, gratitude to appreciate the things that support my everyday, and the bravery to be truly present to reality as it unfolds.
My life motto/mantra is awareness is always the first step.
No matter what comes up, I always make time for seated meditation. It is non-negotiable.
Handstands make me happy.
I always make the bed.
In 20 years, I hope to be madly in love with life.
My top spot to escape is: the ocean, preferably with some snorkeling
