This week we caught up with one of Om On’s newest Instructors, Jennie Ray Hart, to chat all things yoga, fave RVA spots, and her path to the mat. Check out Jennie’s new class on Tuesdays @ 9:45am & Quirk Hotel‘s Incredible Rooftop Sundays @ 10:30am!
My Mini-Whoodle, Rayven gently licks my eyelids and gets me going in the morning.
My favorite riff on a pb&j is… always to add banana!
The person I call my Guru/Mentor/Role Model is… My mom!
When I grow up I… want to be grown up.
Life’s too short… to waste.
When I close my eyes I… am spending time with my Higher Power.
Waking up is the best part of my day.
The last time I laughed so hard I couldn’t stop was… watching a youtube of a Pomeranian doing a hand stand. Can we say inversion practice!
Riding my bike down the 2nd Street Connector or the steep hill on East Byrd are my favorite cheap thrills in RVA.
I’ve never learned… how to iron. (us either Jennie)
I started practicing yoga when… I was post op from abdominal & back surgeries needing to find my center and the ability to move safely.
Naps are my guilty obsessions.
One thing you wouldn’t have guessed about me is… I’m very shy.
My proudest accomplishment is… being 49 and being sober!
I am consistently inspired by my yoga students… who give it their all, especially those with special needs at Manchester High School
My life motto/mantra is: Trust and walk through.
I am grateful that I am a yoga instructor because… it reconnects me to the roots of the practice…one person sharing and connecting with another.
