Katie Painter started practicing her freshman year in college in a campus gym class. She found yoga helped her cope with the stresses and changes she faced at the time, but fell away from the practice when she left the school. It wasn’t until she became pregnant with her oldest child and started prenatal yoga that she began practicing again. Once more, the physical practice of yoga helped her cope with the stresses and changes in her life. She decided to join the Spring 2016 200 hour teacher training right here at Om On Yoga. Three months later she completed an 85 hour prenatal yoga teacher training at Ishta Yoga in New York City.
Practicing through two pregnancies and their recoveries taught Katie that yoga is truly for every body. She enjoys teaching postures and movements that feel right in students’ bodies both during class and after.
When she’s not teaching, Katie is spending time with her family, exploring new worlds and information in books, or supporting growing families as a birth doula.
