Jennie Ray Hart’s first yoga class was an elective at The Open High School in Richmond, VA. Her next was 25 years later under the tutelage of the late, Mike Williams. Inspired by his life, she went on to many area studios/teachers.
As a pursuit of further knowledge she received her 1st 200 Hr. Certification at Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga in Va. Beach. The alignment based “yoga for every body” theories taught there have informed her practice and her teaching style. When Jennie Ray found Hot Power Yoga inspired by Baron Baptiste, she found her home. She completed her 2nd 200 Hr. Certification in Hot Power Yoga in July 2017. In 2018, she has completed 235 hours of training (Levels 1, 2 and The Art of Assisting) through The Baptiste Institute.
She loves teaching the new to yoga student, the couple who want to practice together, the athlete and the person who says “I don’t do yoga because I can’t touch my toes!”. When not practicing, she and her Whoodle, Rayven, are usually on long walks near any body of water they can find or she is on her bike chasing her 85 year old Mom’s cycling passion.
