“Feng shui is an ancient art and science that was formalized over 3,000 years ago in China. In literal translation feng means “wind” and shui means “water.” In Chinese culture, wind and water are associated with good health, thus good feng shui came to mean good fortune. Feng shui can be as simple as rearranging your bedroom and as complex as transforming your life and mindset.” -TheSpruce.com
With these tips and tricks you can learn how to Feng shui your life to live happier, healthier and more energized.
Begin your mornings with a ritual.
This helps you to live a purpose-filled day and eliminate stress. Try setting three intentions for your day to start. Make your bed to ensure that your home is warm and inviting. Getting your body moving is the best way to start your day off. Try incorporating Yoga or daily stretching in your morning routine to get your blood flowing and body relaxed. Create a sacred space.
A sacred space in your home is where you feel comfortable and where you are able to be at peace. Focus on your breath and eliminate the chatter in your mind. Listen with an open heart and try to find peace when in your sacred space. It is important to have somewhere that you can come to and feel safe.
One of the most important rules to follow in Feng shui is to clear physical clutter.
If your home is uncluttered it is easier to clear your mind and have positive energy. Clutter stops the flow of positive energy both literally and figuratively. Clutter signifies the past. Do not hold onto clutter in your life and do not hold on to the past. In order to have an energized mind clear distraction and cutter from your life and home.
Bring nature indoors.
This helps to boost energy and productivity as well as elevate your mood. Placing thriving plants in the corners of your rooms will create harmony. Along with plants, allowing natural sun-light to flow through your home is a great way to bathe your home and mind in positive energy.
Perform a space clearing.
Doing this with sandalwood incense or dried sage helps to bring in fresh energy and begin anew. Waving the incense in a counter-clockwise circle as you walk around your home helps to engulf the room in fresh energy and positivity.
In general, arrange your furniture to welcome you into each room.
It’s not inviting to see the back of a couch. Add vibrant colors in rugs, window treatments, pillows, candles and artwork to positively affect your mood. There is a Chinese proverb that says if you move twenty things in your home, you will change your luck. Try rearranging the furniture around your home to welcome positive energy in.
And finally, end each day with a night time ritual.
This helps you to de-stress and sleep deeply. Try dimming the lights, and stay away from your phone, computer and television at least one hour prior to falling asleep. If time allows, taking a warm sea salt bath helps to remove stressful energy from the day. End the day by jotting down three to five things you appreciated most in the last 24 hours to help you wake more energized, grateful and positive.
Following the rules of Feng shui will help you to refocus your energy, create harmony and amplify gratitude.
