Los Poblanos Retreat

Join Om On’s Laura McNeill at Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm in the North Valley of Albuquerque New Mexico in April 2018. Los Poblanos is a historic property set on land that was originally inhabited by the Anasazi Indians in the 14th Century. It is from these roots that Los Poblanos gets its name, as these citizens originally from Puebla, Mexico were called “Poblanos”.

Today the inn offers guest rooms and suites that incorporate the classic Hacienda New Mexico style elements of hardwood floors, wood burning fireplaces, traditional artwork and antique furnishings. The gorgeous setting of lavender fields, a functioning farm, incredible gardens, and a salt-water pool surround the inn and truly allow one to immerse in nature.

We will be offering twice daily yoga classes sequenced for all levels and allowing proper time to really restore and reset. As well, each morning we will come together for an opening meditation that will incorporate the gorgeous landscape and the traditions/ rituals of the area. On our last morning together we will also experience a sound bath with the use of singing bowls out in the lavender fields with the wind blowing around us, and sun warming our skin.

Students will also have the opportunity to spend time with Christa Obuchowski a traditional naturopath, botanical perfumer, distiller, and educator. Christa, founder of the AromaBotanica Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, incorporates her love and knowledge of the plant world into practical application. In our time spent together with Christa we will be guided on a sensory journey of the beautiful rose bushes on the grounds of Los Poblanos. After exploring and learning about their properties together we will pick and distill the roses to create our very own Rose Water and Perfume. We will also explore the incredible uses of Lavender and blend our very own lavender bath salts to use in a relaxing bath.

Lastly, we will have the opportunity to indulge in a Farm to Fork dining experience. This journey will include a cooking demo and 4-course tasting crafted from the season’s harvest and featuring artisan ingredients from the Los Poblanos farm and local area.

Come join us as we connect with these beautiful surroundings and indulge our bodies and minds in yoga & nature!
