The Skinny

Colorado is a state that offers it all from the plains to the East and mountains to the West, you can get your fill of all the outdoors has to offer. We are particularly drawn to Colorado ranch country with the Colorado River running through it, and site of the Continental Divide.

This year we’ll be hanging at C Lazy U Dude Ranch, which is just outside of the famous Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s proximity to the park, and with the majestic Rocky Mountains as it’s backdrop makes this location simply idyllic and perfect for a long weekend escape. Expect a valley setting affording you the ability to look out in all directions and take in the stunning landscape of pasture land with its blooming wild flowers and roaming horses. It doesn’t take long to know you’ve come home.

C Lazy U’s focal feature next to of course their beautiful thorough bred horses, have to be the awe-inspiring mountains that encircle the ranch. The Rocky Mountain range is equal parts grandeur and simplicity, and any outdoor buff will delight in the myriad of activities that they offer. From it’s high peaks rising to more than 14,000 feet in elevation to the grassy valleys covered with wild flowers there will surely be something for everyone.

Some guests may decide to take in the National Park before or after their time on the ranch and Grand Lake which serves as the Western Entrance to the park, is a mere 20 minute drive away. From there guests can access a wide array of hiking trails, take in a famed drive on Trail Ridge Road, and stand in awe of the aspen trees and jaw dropping Longs Peak.

All and all the energy here is rich in rustic hospitality deeply steeped in nature and history. We hope you’ll tag along this fall as we saddle up and ride off into the Colorado sunset.
